Mike Celenza, Post 295 Hitting it BIG at Salisbury State

YORK, Pa. - The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly conference
athlete of the week awards and Salisbury University sophomore first baseman Mike Celenza (Gaithersburg, Md./Quince
Orchard)
was named the baseball recipient for the week of April
28. This is the second time the slugger has received the honor this season.
Celenza slammed two home runs for fourth-ranked Salisbury as the Sea Gulls
came away with an 8-3 in-region victory against Christopher Newport University.
Celenza hit his first two-run home run in the fifth inning to tie the game at
two. He later added a second two-run shot, his sixth of the year, in the eighth
to hand SU some insurance runs. For the season he is batting .392-6-52. He is
tied for second on the team in home runs and RBI.
Celenza is
the fourth Sea Gull baseball recipient of this award for the 2008
season. He won the award back on March 17 when he crushed two home
runs and knocked in seven RBI in three contests against Villa Julie College.
Will Evans (April 14) and Justin Armiger (February 25) are the two
other previous award winners
